  • Creating a Care Closet

    This care closet has been a game changer in our classroom. every morning I open up the care closet to allow anyone who needs to visit and get their needs met. Some mornings I just have kids who go to brush their hair, other mornings I have kids come and ask for a meal for dinner later and some shower wipes because they need to clean themselves. I have found my students getting more comfortable in asking for what they need. it feels amazing to be able to support my students and families in this way. I can rest assured that every student is clean, cared for, and fed at least while they are in my care. Thank you all so much!”

  • Stress Free Morning Work

    Funded May 3, 2022

    We are only one month into the school year and I have already noticed a huge impact from this project. Last year my mornings were filled with, despite my best efforts, having to ask students over and over again to sit down and do their work. For many kids it was a hard way to start the day. Now my students come into class excited to see which activity they will get in the morning. My students are motivated to be on time so they have plenty of play time. My mornings are now filled with creativity, laughter, and exploration. The students get to start their morning with positivity and a relaxed atmosphere instead of with paper pencil work. This also gives me time to check in with students while they arrive because the rest of my class is on task with their activities.
