  • Ms. Kristy's Aspirational Architects!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Due to building issues that have caused our center to be closed, I was unable to get pictures of the students playing with the items. I did get the chance to work with students during an in-person event my building had at our local library using some of these materials. These materials will be combined with books that focus on STEM associated concepts once our classroom resumes in-person instruction. These materials will provide years of use from my classroom students and provide them learning that will help them excel in their future educational careers. Thank you so very much for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kristy

  • Family Board Game Event Nights!

    Funded Dec 14, 2021

Our preschool center has experienced a very difficult year due to unsafe building repairs that needed completed before we are able to provide the desperately needed education for our students. These games that you so generously donated to our program allowed us to provide an in-person experience for my parent's and student's. It allowed me to connect to my students, that I have had to teach via E-Learning for the time being. We are currently planning another event for our families for the end of the school year. All the teaching staff in our program want to say a huge THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!!!”

  • Soft Seats For Learning!

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

These wonderful additions to our classroom are for soft seating for my students. We anticipated starting our class this year without carpet. We had building concerns that desperately needed addressed before allowing students to return this past fall. We are in the process of the beginnings of the classroom set up currently. I am planning on using these materials with students for our block center and literacy/felt story center. We hope to get carpet or flooring soon.

In the situation that we start class with no carpet, these will be the soft options for students at circle time. There is no doubt these will be a huge hit with my students!

Thank you again for providing these materials for my class!”

  • Mrs. Kristy's Storytellers & Game Players

    Funded May 4, 2021

Our last week of class has been a blast with assistance from your donation! The students have played the new games, used the new puzzles, and told felt stories to the class. I can't express what a blessing these materials will be for upcoming years to come! You have helped make their last week a memorable one. Each item was unboxed together as a class and today students will get one last day to use their preference of new items one last time!

Thank You on behalf of my teaching staff and myself!

  • Hearts & Minds Intertwined- A Wellbeing Literacy Resource Station

    Funded Apr 12, 2021

My students were so very interested in the new books that arrived for them. I had a number of students that were interested in the book topics provided. One of my students is particularly struggling with the recent arrest of her mom. With this donation came a book that gave her some comfort during this particularly difficult time. I have currently read three of the stories that were included in this donation, based on individual needs. I want to say what a blessing this donation has been to my group of 12 students. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this gift that will affect my students in a positive manner for years to come.”

  • Mrs. Kristy’s Homebound Learners

    Funded Jan 25, 2021

This project has been a huge assistance with the ongoing COVID issues that plague us all. We have been able to use these backpacks with multiple students that had been out on quarantine. We made homework packets that went with the backpack materials to give some guidance to the families on different ways to use what was included. The students that have used the backpacks, are always happy and let us know how great it was to still do activities to learn at home. These provided materials will be of such great benefit moving forward and for years to come! Thanks again!”

  • Able Artists

    Funded Dec 15, 2020

My students began their project with weaving on the looms. The children did an amazing job at stretching, sorting, and weaving each piece to complete a hot pad! Some children even did a secondary piece. All the hot pads were saved and awaiting an art fair this April at our local library!

Next we began our project using clay. The children discussed the differences between the clay and play dough. They experimented with making flats and making coils for their pots. They even learned how to use the tools! We covered and posted new vocabulary words on the word wall using the clay pottery tools. The children enjoyed every aspect of this project.

Next we are using the canvases and paint to make dirty poor paintings. The art fair is set up and will include all of these wonderful projects that your donations have supplied. Thank you so much for donating to our classroom and giving them experiences that have sparked their imagination and pride in themselves!”

  • Mrs. Kristy's Language Building Learners!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

For the last four weeks the children have been able to enjoy the weekly Clifford readers due to your generous donation! Each week, the provided materials give interesting information on a topic. It includes interesting real life photos. On the back, there is always a fun activity that relates to the discussed theme. For example, the reader titled, Do You Want to Be a Firefighter?, has a find and circle "Could it be hot?" activity!

One aspect of the weekly reader is the opportunity and information included for online activities for the children to participate in based on the same theme. The children particularly enjoyed going to the website and exploring. In the images sent, you can see the students enjoying their participation in coloring the weather related items based upon the color word on the back page.

Every student in class loves these materials. They are truly a highlight each week that they look forward to! We are still awaiting our laptop for use at our Tech/ Writing Center. It is on back order and will not arrive till sometime in March. I have no doubt that when it arrives, the children will visit the Scholastic My Big World website when we do the weekly readers! Thank you again for supporting my students!”

  • Mrs. Kristy’s Indoor Cardio Party

    Funded Nov 18, 2020

My students were so excited to receive these items! One picture shows some of the students gathered around as items were unboxed. One of the pictures shows the first day we set up a course around the room incorporating the beam, cones, and hopscotch rug. There were so many smiles seen that day and every day since!

We have set up and used these materials many days since they have arrived. We did vocabulary of the materials and placed the words and pictures on the word wall. The children have been busy learning patterns of in/out with the cones. They practice large motor movements of one foot/two feet hops and balance moves. They have also enjoyed all our yoga moves daily on the mats.

I cannot express how beneficial these materials have been to my students. We are so grateful for your generous donation. These materials will be a wonderful staple for many years to come!”

  • Mrs. Kristy's Center for Lighting Up Learning!!!

    Funded Oct 30, 2020

Another co-teacher I work with brought in a large bag. The students guessed what they thought it was. Once we uncovered the light table, the children brainstormed how to turn it on. The children voted on what the first week's activity would be. The children counted and discussed the winner.

This week's activity is counting how many drops of colored water it takes to fill the circles using eye droppers. The children counted and made tally marks to signify the count. One of the students even experimented by mixing and making a new color.

After all the students are ready to move on, I have made up some lava bags using baby oil and food color. This learning center is a huge hit with all my students. I can not say thank you enough!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kristy

From birth, one of the best things we can do for our child is to read to them. Language is crucial to development. A great way to explore language usage is through the stories that books provide. Books prompt questions, answers, ideas, creativity, and exploration. For my students to be able to see the covers of the stories that are available will allow for them to better choose that book that sparks their imagination and beckons them to it. The displaying of materials in a classroom brings an inviting vibe to the environment. This bookshelf will allow for the 21 required books to be given the space and proper ability to be seen and showcased.
