  • Comfort Companions for My Students

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so very much for helping us integrate six Purrbles into our classroom. When Snowflake, our borrowed Purrble friend, had to return to his owner, the children talked about him repeatedly. They recognized how helpful he was in supporting them as they managed their big feelings, even if they weren't quite able to put it into words.

They were so excited when I told them that we were getting six Purrbles of our very own for them to learn and grow with. We spent several class periods preparing for their arrival. The children's favorite part of getting ready for our new friends was picking their names. We started by brainstorming all different names that we could use – one of my favorites was Meatball.

Having access to our furry little comfort friends has been an enormous help in regulating and managing our emotions. Thank you for all your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Capelotti

  • I Can See Clearly Now!

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

It is amazing how much the webcam that I was able to purchase through your incredible donation has helped my teaching. The children are now able to actually see what I am doing.

Our kiddos love to do step-by-step drawings. It is great for their fine motor skills, following directions, and of course having a little fun. It has also been instrumental in helping the children learn to create letters, words and sentences too.

Once again I would like to let you know that I truly appreciate all that you have done for our class. It have been a tremendous help!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Capelotti

  • It Takes a Village!

    Funded May 25, 2020

Thank you for helping out our wonderful community! Our students are so eager to explore, discover, and learn about the world around them. You were an essential player in making that happen.

It was amazing to see all the little faces as I hand delivered their surprise packages. They were so excited to have their own materials! They were now able to fully participate in lessons rather than just watch the screen during long distance learning.

Thank you for your generosity – you really made a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Capelotti

It has been my privilege to work with an amazing group of kindergarteners this year. They are quite the energetic and enthusiastic bunch. The transition to remote learning has been filled with challenges for our families. Despite this, they are doing their very best at accessing virtual online lessons, meetings, and activities. My students need to interact with materials in order to connect meaning to new lessons, concepts, and ideas. As they are now working from home, few have adequate materials to participate and interact with the lessons. The resources I have requested will allow my students to work alongside me during our online learning time and have an opportunity to practice the skills needed to be successful next year. Students will use wipe off boards to display their answers during virtual lessons as well as practice writing letters, words, and sentences. They will have the basic items needed to create individual learning projects. Additionally, they will be povided materials needed to count, compare, and measure. These are all skills essential to their academic success. My goal is to create individual care packages containing the essentials each child needs to participate in their lessons: wipe off boards, manipulatives, and letter tiles are some of the needed items. I believe receiving these needed supplies would not only allow them better access to the lessons but also put a big smile on their faces!
