Cool Off With the Water Olympics!
Funded Apr 23, 2024After a long year of learning, our kindergarten classes came together to celebrate with an outdoor Water Olympics Day. Parents, teachers and students came together to cool-off and have fun with games like "fill the bucket" with water shooters, exercising after rolling jumbo dice, target throwing and creating some amazing works of art on our water mats. They enjoyed getting to take a break from all the learning and play games with their peers. Thank you so much for your contributions and helping to make our special day so wonderful. This was a day that i am sure many will never forget.”

Tidy Spaces and Lots of Learning!
Funded Jan 17, 2024Thank you so much for contributing to our project to help make our room a cleaner and more enjoyable space to work and learn in. The foam mats have replaced our old rug and has given our students more space to stand, sit and move around on when it comes time to listen to a story, learn about a new topic or just get wiggles out. The Swifer Wet Jet mop and vacuum have come in handy with cleaning up our floor and rug when tiny messes occur. Our students and the teachers have enjoyed these new items and appreciate all the donations received to fund this project. Thank you!”

New Year, New Supplies
Funded Aug 15, 2023Your contribution to our classroom has meant the world. I transitioned to a new district, grade level and school this year and the ability to give my new group of kindergarteners these supplies to help them stay organized, learn and grow. This has made the start of the year amazing. The poly spot markers are used every day to help students transition from morning experiences to our morning meeting and allows students to be organized on the carpet for learning easily. Each student now has their own pair of scissors that they keep handy for daily use. We have loved using them to practice cutting and enhance fine motor skills. Your generosity to donate to our classroom enhances learning for all students and is greatly appreciated. Thank you!”

Funded Apr 14, 2023Thank you so much for your considerable donation to my classroom to help get some fun supplies into the hands of my young learners this summer. Much of the items purchased with your donation aligned with and can be used to enhance skills and curriculum units we have learned about this school year. Students received blow-up beach balls since we learned about a Creative Curriculum unit, balls, as well as chalk, pencils, notebooks and goldfish snacks to allow students to review their literacy and math skills. Several other fun supplies were also included. Thank you for your donation and I know my students will enjoy using them all summer long!”

Funded Apr 28, 2023Our students love the flexibility of being able to sit in a variety of ways in different spaces in our classroom. We love to allow our students to stand, kneel, sit on stools, sit on bouncy balls or lay on the floor while learning throughout the day. With these new items, we have been able to refresh our classroom space with some updated stools and a new carpet for reading/library area. The stools allow the students to be sitting up a little higher at our tables while they participate in morning experiences and center time activities and the new rug allows them to lay down while reading their favorite books! Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom!”

Funded May 25, 2022Last school year was a year like no other. We started out our year out having students getting sick with COVID-19 left and right and having to go out for days on hand, sometimes more than one time. We all worked so hard to learn new concepts to prepare for Kindergarten in hopes that no regression would take place this summer. There were several manipulatives, activities and special treats used throughout the school year that aided in our learning. One of the top favorites was colored goldfish snacks which we used to help us count, sort by color, compare quantities and create patterns. The students were all so pumped to go to kindergarten. The book, Kindergarten Here We Come, was a special little send-off for summer!
On the last day of school, each student received a large giftbag which included supplies such as chalk, beach balls, bubble wands, goldfish snacks, a book about kindergarten, and playdoh among so much more. They were so excited to take home such a special gift! Families shared their fun with me in photos this past summer of their children enjoying the supplies. We know that our students enjoyed taking home a piece of Pre-k with them this past summer!”

New Year, Different Beginning!
Funded Nov 19, 2020The moment my students stepped into the classroom and saw all their individual buckets full of awesome supplies they were so excited. The donations we have received of supplies and materials for our virtual and hybrid learners were put to good use this week, as our students headed back into the classroom for the first time in almost a year.
These supplies were gathered and distributed among students returning to in-person learning this week in order to eliminate the sharing of other classroom materials and to help all students stay safe. We all know that during the school year children share toys and materials and pass germs around consistently throughout the instructional day.
Your generous donations have helped supply each of my hybrid students with their own supplies to use for instruction throughout their day at school. They have used these materials to draw pictures, create art, construct patterns, count their numbers on a dice, all while managing to keep all their supplies handy and separate from their classmates. Thank you for providing this opportunity for my students to learn safely.”

Funded May 19, 2020As a teacher, you expect to start and end the school year with a new group of students each year the same way. For prekindergarten-aged children, they come in not knowing much, but leave gaining so many skills and much more knowledge academically then you could ever have imagined. This past school year ended in quite a different way. My sweet students did not expect to leave on a Friday afternoon for the weekend never to return to their classroom, unable to see their teachers or friends. My students had to adapt to a new normal for attending and going to "school." I chose to create this project to allow my students the opportunity to continue to learn, create and grow as young learners. The materials provided to my student in these boxes were wonderful tools to help them do just that! Thank you so much!”

Funded Aug 21, 2018I am a prekindergarten teacher working with students in a Title I (low-income) area of Virginia. The push for flexible seating has become an important part of our school's learning environment. This type of seating gives my students the ability to stay engaged through the use of movement around the room. Your generous donations have allowed me to purchase three different types of seating for our classroom. My students have the flexibility of using bouncy/yoga balls, heightened stools and portable desks. The 5 heightened stools and 5 bouncy/yoga balls stay stationary at two of our tables within the classroom. The 5 portable desks are used during our Writer's Workshop with the students who get to share their writing for the day, as well as to write on throughout the day during our center rotations.
I was able to receive my materials before the start of the school year in September, therefore, when the students arrived to school on the very first day they were able to utilize the materials right away. The students enjoyed using the heightened stools during our morning experiences, in which students are engaged with hands-on activities at the start of their day. The bouncy/yoga balls were a big hit, of course with them wanting to bounce on them all day long; perfect for their busy little bodies. The portable desks were perfect for the table of students sharing their writing for the day. Students loved taking the desks to the carpet and using them to write for the day.
As our year progresses, the students will continue to use these wonderful resources on a daily basis. It is my goal to continue to provide my students with the best learning environment possible in order to be successful learners. I plan to re-evaluate our current classroom set-up to see if additional flexible seating arrangements are possible. What has been provided through this project has already prove to give my students a great start to their educational career. Thank you!”

Mrs. DiNenna
