In these uncertain times, teachers, parents and students have found themselves navigating school in the virtual world. Social-Emotional learning is something that is needed now more than ever. Behind the Little Red Door is a program that will teach my students how to regulate their emotions and teach them coping skills. With the gift cards from Teachers-Pay-Teachers I will be able to purchase adapted books that explain topics such as virtual learning from home, the importance of washing your hands, and why we have to wear masks. These adapted books will allow me to create lessons that help keep students engaged.
With these resources I will be able to create distance learning lessons for my students that teach a social-emotional framework that develop ways to regulate their emotions and coping strategies.
These resources will also help explain to my students why they are learning from home and how important it is to wear their mask.
Without social-emotional skills, students are more likely to struggle when faced with new challenges or conflicts. Social-Emotional learning will help students navigate their emotions and learn how to manage stress in our ever changing world.
