There are two purposes for these tools: to provide sensory support for students in the classroom setting and as a sensory break option during non-classroom times. These supplies may look like toys to many, but they are actually important tools to help students relax, focus, and calm their bodies in different settings. Items such as fidgets, headphones, and light covers will help decrease fear, discomfort, and anxiety in the classroom environment. Items such as kinetic sand, exercise mats, and building blocks used as sensory breaks will help my students develop social learning skills like planning, negotiating, and sharing.
