The use of read-aloud and classroom library books will be used daily in my classroom. I would like a variety of books that address standards, culture, and diversity. Read-alouds are a way to be engaged with my students and relate these books to everyday life and the standards taught. My classroom library is a space that my students really enjoy. I read on the carpet to them, while also allowing them to read to their classmates. Every book that is placed in my library is treated with care and love. Both my students and I are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students' interests and backgrounds in mind.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that they are interested in, while also allowing them to grow as readers.
My goal is to increase reading ability and interest. This project will help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
