These hands-on math items will be assembled into take-home kits for my students with learning disabilities. Research has shown that students with LD need concrete ways to work out math problems, and math manipulatives provide those opportunities. Most families do not have these resources at home, so being able to send kits home with my students during distance learning will enable them to continue using the same types of materials that we would use at school. In addition, students typically find using math manipulatives makes learning more engaging, thus helping them stay motivated to complete their work at home!
