As many know, teaching special education students who are severely impacted by their disabilities is even more challenging from a distance. I'm trying to deliver materials to students' homes which are keeping them engaged and connected to school. Focusing on specific delivery of academic instruction is hard for parents to administer, but hopefully, through art projects, we can stay more connected. Students don't typically take home their communication devices, having proper protective cases for their iPad is imperative. Many parents are not able to take home school items such as sensory balls to help students regulate their sensory needs, have one for them in the home would be key to easing anxiety and create familiarity within the home environment as they navigate academic work in an unfamiliar setting for such work.
