  • Take a Break...in Style!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and support in this project. Your generous donations have allowed me to set up my classroom in style as we go back 100% tomorrow! My students will be so excited when they see the new additions to our "break station," and I am sure that they will feel the great vibes as they are welcomed back into the music classroom! This station will allow for my students to take a breath and relax when they are feeling overwhelmed, and in such uncertain times, I feel this is very important and valuable to be able to provide them with!

Again, thank you so much for your incredible generosity. Amazing people like you in this world are what it is all about!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shields

  • Havin' a Blast in the Music Classroom!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in supporting this project for the music classroom. I just received so many wonderful rhythm instruments that my students will be so excited that we have added to our collection! I use these instruments to help teach musical concepts such as steady beat, rhythm, etc. We also received a brand new speaker that I am so excited to share with my students as we will be able to listen to music wherever we go!

Again, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in support of our classroom!”

  • Makin' Music With Our Printer!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and support in bringing a brand new printer to the music classroom! I already have it set up and in use! This printer will be so helpful to have in our classroom as we are located in a modular outside the building. Therefore, if we need something printed last minute, we are able to rather than having to wait until I get a break or the next day! My students and I appreciate your kindness and generosity so much and will get so much use from this printer along with the wonderful ink cartridges donated too!”

  • Blowin' Out Some Tunes!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and support in bringing my students a new saxophone for the upcoming school year. As part of a relatively new music program, I have been slowly trying to build up what we offer and I am so excited to be able to offer a program after-school this year where students can learn different instruments. I know my students will be thrilled when some of them find out they are able to learn such an incredible instrument.

Again, thank you for your kindness and support in such a meaningful project to us!”

  • Music Books Everywhere!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in my project "Music Books Everywhere!" We are so lucky to have so many wonderful and new books in the music classroom to help teach and encourage music concepts/ideas and to help bring confidence into the classroom. So many of these books are about young musicians learning to play an instrument in which my students will be doing so they are able to closely relate.

Again, thank you for your kindness and support. We are so lucky to have people like you in this world and support us as we navigate our way through difficult times!”

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in supporting my projects for a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. I am able to use this gift card to help get my classroom ready with fun and inviting music decorations for the year. Also, my students and I are so excited to use this gift card to help us learn in fun and engaging music games!

Again, thank you for your support! We are so lucky to have kind and generous people like you in this world to help support us during these difficult times.”

  • Elementary School Beat Masters!

    Funded May 20, 2021

Thank you SO much for your incredible and over-the-top kindness in this project. I am so excited to put together our new "recording studio" in my classroom and present this amazing equipment to my students. My fifth graders are going to be beyond thrilled when they realize that we are going to use this equipment to learn more about beat and rhythm. We are truly lucky to have people like you in this world that allow us to have these amazing opportunities in music education. Again, thank you for your generosity.”

  • Music Gifts for Everyone!

    Funded May 20, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness in this project. This past week was the last week of "after-school music" for my students. I had some fourth-graders and mostly fifth graders participate in this, so it was really special to be able to present these gifts to my fifth graders who are moving onto the middle school next year. Since our after-school program was virtual this year, I had their parents pick up their gifts while returning their instruments and told them to wait until our last class together to open them so we could do it all together! Their reactions were truly priceless as they loved each and every gift that was given to them. Again, thank you so much for allowing me to make this happen for my students. Your generosity is so appreciated.”

  • Drummin' Our Stress Away!

    Funded May 20, 2021

Thank you so much for your kind donation to my project and for allowing for my students to have all the rhythm instruments they could possibly imagine for their upcoming school year. My young students get such excitement out of playing instruments, and with the way the world is these days, it's important for me to be able to let each student have their own per class. With the number of instruments I received in this project, we will have no problem making sure each student is safe and having a blast while learning about music education! Again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Music Makes the Brain Smarter...and So Do Healthy Snacks!

    Funded Apr 14, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and support in this project. During a time when a lot of families are struggling in my district, it means a lot to me to be able to share these wonderful snacks and juices with our students! While students were able to still receive school lunches during this time and pick them up at certain locations, I know they will be so excited with the addition of new, exciting, and healthy snacks. With PSSA's coming up, this will also allow them to feel more energized and ready to take on their day.

Again, thank you for your incredible generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shields

While teaching music online, it'd be great to continue learning different instruments with my second graders. While trying to think of an instrument that is "small" and "compact," I thought of the pan flute which was first created in ancient Greece. While we were still in school, students were learning about the "Djembe," which is an African American drum, so therefore it would be incredible to continue learning about instruments from around the world. Whenever students are given the opportunity to learn a new instrument, they light up with excitement. I would love to be able to continue to provide that excitement even while we are in this crazy time in life and school is done online. Even if we can't receive materials and begin this project before the end of this school year, I am hoping that we will return to a "normal" school environment next year and we can then learn the pan flute together in person.
