  • Where there’s a will there’s a way!

    Funded May 28, 2020

It takes a village to raise a child, through your donations I was able to see that village in action. Working as an ENL educator for district 75 it has been a challenge to engage my students, who all have unique ways of learning and communicating.

When the materials were delivered it warmed my heart to see the smiles and excitement my students expressed. The dry erase boards and letters have made it easy to implement literacy on and off sessions. The participation and focus levels increased as I used the materials provided through your donations. Thank you for supporting my students through this transition of remote learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Olmo

  • Time To Get Crafty!

    Funded Jun 3, 2020

Virtual Teaching has been a difficult task for both educators and students. The fun and creative resources that students had in the buildings were no longer available to them. With your help I was able to provide these arts and craft tools to keep the fun going. The look of excitement as they shared what they received was amazing. They are excited to use the tools throughout our lessons.

As and ENL educator I find that my students learn best through visual and hands on activities. With the art supplies my students were able to create activities to enforce language skills within a lesson. With the supplies the students are working on creating a word wall at home with new words they are learning through out the year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Olmo

As an English Language teacher for district 75, my job is to provide every child with the ability to access the education provided to them. Using hands-on materials and concrete objects was the best approach for my students. Families are faced with the hardship of being a mom and a teacher. Without these materials, our children are limited to their daily tasks. Parents are feeling helpless despite constant outreach. With these materials, students will be able to fully engage with distant learning tasks assigned to them. Thank you
