Many of my creative first graders do not have the means to acquire materials to do quality work at home. They are eager to learn and it is sad that they do not have what they need during this pandemic to express themselves. As an ESL teacher, I know how important it is to give children different opportunities to share their learning. Variety stimulates interest. Students obtaining the bare materials such as: crayons, markers, construction paper, dry erase boards, to name a few - would make a great difference. Being in their houses for most if not all day can be overwhelming, these materials no doubt will spark added interest and help them pass the time. Materials such as I mention could assist my students from a distance.
