• Spark an Interest in Reading with Books They Love!

  Thank you so much for providing books for our classroom. Students at all different reading levels have enjoyed reading and learning with these books. Students reading ability, fluency, and comprehension has improved greatly. Students have a variety of books to choose from that spark their interest in reading and learning. These books will be a great help for many years and students to come. Thank you so much for blessing our second grade classroom. You are helping our future leaders learn to read for success!”

• Multi-sensory Learning to Read and Spell!

  Our second grade students at Fairdale Elementary have been enjoying working with hands on manipulatives learning how to read and spell. In the attached pictures, you will see students practicing spelling their spelling words for the week. These same tiles have been used for making word families, blends, suffixes, prefixes, and learning base words. This is so much more fun than another worksheet. We greatly thank you so much for the support that you have given to our classroom. These supplies will be used throughout the rest of this year and many more years to come!”

• Project Based Learning “Grocery Store”

  Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. Our students have greatly enjoyed the "Grocery Store" unit. These activities and experience will be something they will never forget.

  Students have learned to recognize what each coin is called and the value of each coin. They have learned to count various amounts of coins and dollars together. They have also started to learn how to make change from exchanging money.

  These items were used during our "Grocery Store" unit, however we still continue to use them every day. We use the magnetic money on the board during lessons and the students use the cash register and groceries during recess each day. They love role playing.

• Learning Activities and Games Make School So Much Fun!

  Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! Once, I had learned that my project had gotten fully funded, I jumped for joy! I could not wait to tell my students the wonderful learning tools and games they would be receiving.

  Once the materials arrived to our classroom, it seemed like it was Christmas. The students could not wait to open the box. I immediately explained each game/ learning toy and let each student try it out. I heard them say, "These are so fun" and "This is the best day ever".

  As the year has progressed, we have used these learning games in the classroom and outside at recess. They will continue to use them throughout the year and I will be able to use them for many years to come!

  Again, we appreciate it so much. You have greatly impacted the learning experience for these young children.”
