Building Independence
Funded Mar 10, 2022The lakeshore learning kits that were purchased from your wonderful donations has helped my students learn that they can do things independently. The centers have helped them regain the confidence they needed in doing their work. One of their favorite lakeshore centers was the life cycle kit. My students enjoyed learning and then being able to stamp and draw the life cycle of a flower.
The kits have also provided a hands on learning experience for my students which has increased their engagement and excitement in learning. The students really enjoy the Science Lakeshore centers the most. My students were excited to see all the kits that were bought for them!
The next step for my students is to continue learning and growing. I want to continue to incorporate the independent learning centers weekly to help them to have fun while learning.”

Make Learning Fun!
Funded May 28, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations that help me bring new engaging learning centers to my 2020-2021 Special Education classroom. This year I have the opportunity to work with multiple grade levels (K-2).
Using the new learning resources you graciously funded I was able to set up 3 new learning centers. The workshop center allows my students to learn to twist plastic bolts and nuts together, string shapes through shoe lace string and use transportation vehicles for a color and count game. They are also able to use the magnetic foam shapes to build and create designs. The sort it centers uses the new sorting games to sort by specific shapes, colors and numbers. The magnet center allows students categories magnet pictures by where they live, where we use them and by numbers, letters and more. They are also able to use the letter magnets are used to build words and identify letters. Lastly, they use the number and picture magnets to identify numbers and work on 1:1 correspondence. Of course besides learning I do allow them to explore with these new learning tools and have fun!
The students were so excited when they saw their new centers they explored each one! Now after 3 weeks of checking out the centers each student has begun to choose which ones they want to explore on their own! Check out my pictures of my centers.
My next step is to continue teaching them our new centers and to build their independence to work the centers on their own while having fun and learning at the same time!
I am so thankful and my students are so happy and engaged in learning it makes my heart happy! Thank you for your kind and generous hearts and for your love for all students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Osborn
