During our daily lessons in our 1:1 school, we often use technology to promote learning and engagement. Our lessons use instructional videos from websites such as Youtube, Edpuzzle, Brainpop, among others. Unfortunately not all students have access to essential technology accessories such as headphones, which creates a barrier when teaching virtual students at the same time (hybrid model). During these pandemic times, maintaining social distance with a large group (20 kids) in the same class, has also become a challenge when students need to charge their laptops and move around the room. By funding this project, my class will have access to new headphones and extension cords. With the use of these headphones, students will have better access to the audio of these instructional videos/tools and with these power cords, their school laptops will always be charged, no matter where they sit in class. By having better access to technology in the classroom, students will have better chances of succeeding and understanding the material being taught. The headphones will further promote engagement and enhance focus during hybrid lessons. Through this project as well, social distance will be supported by allowing students to remain at their desk by having access to more power cords in the room.
