  • Picture This: Students Giving Back Through Photography

    Funded Sep 20, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous support in providing our photography program with a telephoto lens and memory card. With these professional-grade tools, my students are now able to dive deeply into the art and technique of photography, learning essential skills like framing, focus, and composition. This hands-on experience is not only building their technical abilities but also enhancing their creativity and attention to detail.

Through this project, my students are also learning to use their talents for community service, offering free sports photos to athletes and parents. This experience reinforces important values of empathy and giving back, while also connecting to Arkansas Economics Standards by showing students how quality work can impact others positively. Your support is helping them develop pride and responsibility in their work, making a meaningful difference in both their learning and our community.”

  • Focus on the Future: Empowering Student Photographers

    Funded Sep 20, 2024

Thank you for your incredible support of our photography program! With the addition of the battery pack and storage card, our students now have the tools they need to make the most of their photography sessions, ensuring they can capture every important moment during school events and community activities without interruption. These items will greatly enhance their learning experience, allowing them to focus on building their skills in real time without worrying about battery life or storage limitations.

Your generosity has empowered our students to fully immerse themselves in the art and science of photography. Their dedication and enthusiasm for their craft are truly inspiring, and with your help, they're now better equipped to document and share the stories that matter most to our school and community.”

    With gratitude,

  • Let's Go to Greece!

    Funded Jul 3, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting our students as they fundraise for their upcoming trip to Greece! Our student travelers were thrilled to see the materials, and my classroom students were equally excited to dive into helping with the project. The putting green you provided has been an excellent tool for demonstrating the STEM project we are working on, and all my classes have now started designing their mini-golf course holes for the fundraiser, thanks to your generous contribution.

Once students complete their designs, we will invite stakeholders to play a round of mini-golf, giving our students a chance to showcase their STEM skills and mini-golf obstacle mechanics, all while supporting their traveling classmates. One particularly creative student is using the canvas supplies to organize an art event night. She plans to host an evening where participants, guided by our school art teacher, will learn to paint portraits. Proceeds from this event will directly support her travel expenses.

Your support has made it possible for my students to design and develop activities that not only foster creativity and problem-solving but also help make traveling abroad a reality for so many. Thank you again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Henley

  • Fundraising Futures: Building Financial Literacy for Global Impact

    Funded Sep 25, 2024

I don't know how to thank you enough. This grant will provide my student travelers a wonderful financial literacy unit while helping offset travel costs for their families. Students will engage in entrepreneurship, budgeting, and profit calculation as they also embrace community stakeholders. Students will be a part of the process from start to finish. However, mostly, students will learn that there are wonderful people in the world who want the best for them and are willing to support their biggest dreams- even without knowing them. Thank you so much. Your generosity humbles us.”

  • The Arts and Economics of a Maker School Storefront

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

Thank you so much for the 3d printers and Resin set. With your donations, I was able to have enough printers to actually teach a 3d printing class! Students have learned how to design in CAD software while printing their designs and bringing them to life! The ability to print their projects also enhanced our classroom problem-solving. Before, when we designed without printing we may not catch major and minor errors in the prototype. However, when students print their designs, they can see and feel the errors. This encourages students to engage in the Engineering Design Thinking Process to go back and fix their work. Previously, students would have assumed their work did not have mistakes; whereas, now students are excited to go back and fix errors. My fashion design class was able to use the resin to create keychains for our class store. Students learned the science behind the process and have also managed the storefront. Both classes contribute to our class economy and in turn can discuss cost analysis and know if our store has created income to purchase more supplies.”

  • Student-led Sports Photography: Highlighting Achievements Of Our Student Population

    Funded Oct 19, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation. My students are estatic to learn about sports photography, take pictures of their peers, and also have quality photographs of themselves in these important culture-building events. As the grant discussed, it is also changing the culture. Students are communicating with the photography class and asking for us to set up a time to come and capture their athletic abilities. By the end of the year, we should have photos representing all sports and fine arts events in our building while helping photography students hone in on their skills. You are very appreciated.”

  • Arts & Economics of Fashion Design Upcycling

    Funded Apr 20, 2023

I cannot thank you enough for your support with the project "The Arts & Economics of Fashion Design Upcycling." This was a 2 part grant that allowed my students to study economics and express themselves through fashionable and wearable art! Students conducted research to develop their business plan, they tracked cost vs value, and eventually turned their brand into wearable art using pre-used clothing and accessories. Students designed bookbags, jean jackets, skirts and even upcycled tennis shoes! This project taught my students how to be entrepreneurs and gave them skillsets that allow them to make extra money in high school and college by marketing popular trade values in pop culture! My students had a wonderful time learning the economics and art behind fashion design. Thank you very much for supporting us!”

  • Brain Games to Challenge Brainiacs, Part 2

    Funded Apr 21, 2023

Thank you so much for the chess sets and board games! We have been state testing for the last two weeks. On state testing days, my students have down time for often up to two hours while students with accomodations for "extended time" finish their testing. You would have thought it was Christmas when I brought out all the new games and beautiful new magnetic chess boards. The kids have spent this time productively, collaborating with one another and setting up strategic tournaments. Its nice to see them thinking critically and in community with one another. Thank you so much for these resources! The students love them and I can't wait to start developing a chess curriculum for my students next year that helps students learn strategic openings and challenge moves!”
