  • Extra Fun for Extra Help!

    Funded May 9, 2023

My students are absolutely in love with these new materials. They are excited to count to 100 by 1's, 10's, 5's and 2's using our number pop-its. They love looking for different patterns when we are counting too! My students have so much fun searching for the vowel sounds, vowel teams, r controlled vowels and other sounds on our letter pop-its. We also enjoy pairing our new magnetic numbers/symbols with our number pop-its to help solve addition and subtraction problems. My students are also having fun with our Who's Counting game. They love to see how far they can get down the path while using the different strategies that they have learned!

Thank you all so very much for your generosity and making this happen! You truly make a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Meet Us on the Rug!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations for our beautiful rug! Our students love being able to have a cozy place to come for our group gatherings, to read stories, or to work on a task.

When our students first saw the rug, they all were very excited. One student even said "Wow!! This rug is beautiful!" Our students continue to express how much they love the rug, how cozy they feel when they are on it, and how it makes it homey.

Our rug allows our students to sit comfortably when we are in whole group discussions or activities. We also use the rug for fun letter and number games, for example, we play 'I Spy' with letters and numbers. Our rug is a perfect addition to our classroom, and allows us to have a designated area to gather.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Finding the Beauty During Covid-19

    Funded May 11, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity! Because of you we were able to supply all of our first graders with their own butterfly kit.

Our students are using these materials to learn about the life cycle of butterflies. They will watch the process of small caterpillars turn into large caterpillars, to chrysalis to butterflies. They will get to see the daily changes from the safety of their home! While watching the changes, they will also be keeping a journal to document what they notice. We have also provided additional activities for students to work on to help deepen their knowledge of the butterfly life cycle. Students will get to share what they are learning with their classmates and teachers through various educational platforms.

When we delivered the materials to our students they were very excited to get their own kits. Some students took the caterpillars and went right into their house to start observing, while others kept asking if they were really theirs to keep. We even had one student say "This is the best gift EVER!" It brought tears to our eyes to see our students smile and excited to learn.

Not only is this project reaching all of our first graders but it is also creating family memories. This is extremely important during such difficult times. Most of our students have sibling who were also very excited to get the opportunity to watch the butterfly life cycle. Our students' parents and guardians were also very excited to receive the kits. Some parents even jokingly said to their kids "I think I am more excited than you!"

Thank you again for your kindness and donations. We would not have been able to do this without you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

These materials will make a huge difference in my students learning from home. This project will provide my students the opportunity to learn about life cycles while watching it happen in real life. We are currently preparing the curriculum for the life cycle unit we teach in the spring. Usually, as a class, students get to experience the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. The excitement of students' faces while watching their caterpillars transform into butterflies is magical. Having a caterpillar kit of their own will help our students feel connected to their school community by allowing them to share their observations of their caterpillars. They will be able to compare their caterpillars to other classmates' and describe the differences. Butterflies give us hope. Please help give my students hope, fun, amazement and the knowledge that life will go on as they watch these caterpillars become beautiful butterflies in these scary and uncertain times.
