  • Hands-on Learning in 3rd Grade

    Funded Aug 3, 2020

My students have been loving having technology options in the classroom! Coming from low income households, a lot of them have never used a tablet before. It is a great incentive for them to work hard and they love all the learning games and activities on them. Children who have made huge improvements, have been working extra hard or have finished work early love reading in our reading area with the tablets. They provide a way for students to access books that may not be in my classroom and it heightens their interest for reading. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Spry

  • Learning Through Technology

    Funded Aug 21, 2020

Thank you so much for the impact you have made on my classroom. A lot of my students come from very low income families, and don't get to experience technology - such as tablets. My students love using the tablets for research and for learning games. It is a great incentive for them and it allows them to get the experience and skills needed when it comes to learning how to operate technology devices. We use them often for multiplication practice. There are a lot of apps that help with multiplication memorization and they are preparing for their multiplication graduation, so it works out great.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Spry

Being a first year teacher, I want to purchase things for my students so they can really dive into learning. I want to create an organized environment where they can learn in ways that will help information stick. I plan to do that by providing multiple ways to help them figure out how they learn best. This includes hands-on learning, center rotations, and independent learning opportunities. The math games, charts, and other manipulatives will help them build a solid foundation of the basic understandings of math. This is so important to help them become life-long learners.
