  • “Calculators Without Distractions!”

    Thank you for your generous support to our classroom project. This project was particularly special to me, as it was my first Donors Choose project that was fully funded. When I received the wonderful news that it was fully funded, I was overjoyed. The fact that every student in my class would now have a calculator; a tool that they needed to excel in my math class gave me so much happiness.

    Thanks to you, students have calculators in my math classes. Students now are able to use the proper tool to practice their math skills, learn how to turn fractions into decimals and other math skills. The calculators removed a barrier that some students had and made it possible for students to focus and engage with math. Before, many students were using their smartphones or tablets as calculators due to a lack of calculators in the class. This would often led to distractions and a loss of focus on the core math lessons. Now with enough calculators for every student, the phones and other smart devices can be put away during our math lessons. This has removed the allure of tempting games,

    notifications and other fun apps.

    Your contribution has made a significant impact on our students' learning experience and on my teaching experience, once again thank you for supporting education and my classroom.”
