My students enjoy storytime and reading stories. This would be nice for them to be able to come to storytime as a whole group and sit down in a comfy area. My classroom doesn't have an area rug that would allow them to do that. Therefore, having a rug for storytime and reading independently or during small group time would make reading and storytime more enjoyable for them. Students would sometimes come to the bare floor just to be near me during storytime. While others remain at their desk. Students enjoy reading books where they have learned how to pick just right books. They enjoyed going to the listening center during small group time, but was very disappointed when the CD player broke. My students would love to have a nice place to enjoy during storytime as well as another CD player for the listening center.
