For a Colorful Pre-K experience.
Funded Apr 3, 2023Our color printer has had a helpful impact on my students' learning and perception of the daily materials we use. While captivated by the vivid colors, they easily connect with the images they observe. When they realized the images were no longer in black and white but in full color, their astonished expressions filled us with delight. Obviously, they asked numerous questions, together with several wows and colorful remarks that could only come from such wonderful small minds. Thank you for providing us with a rainbow of options and allowing us to live in full color.”

Funded Oct 17, 2022Your generosity has made a difference in our classroom. Thanks to you our students have, a variety of materials that facilitate their learning. Children learn through play and, of course, love to play with their friends. We as teachers make their playing time an explosion of ideas and creativity. Our children can pretend and create without limits, in their infinite world of imagination. The more materials we have in our classroom, the more likely we are to expand their minds. Many times our students have not been exposed to many experiences, but in our small classroom, we connect each activity to real life, and thus prepare our students for a successful future.”

Help the Bunch
Funded Sep 26, 2022To begin, I would like to convey my appreciation for all of the contributions that have been made for our classroom. The sincere gratitude I feel for receiving each and every item cannot be adequately expressed through words. The students expressed their utter delight with each and every item that was given to us. With the help of these donations, each student was given the chance to participate in a situation that was taken directly from real life. From working as police officers, construction laborers, nurses, and veterinarians to working as chefs in kitchens serving upscale cuisine to distinguished customers, these individuals have led diverse and interesting lives. We are quite thankful that these donations have enabled our children to engage in visual learning, and we also take advantage of the opportunities presented by our students to expand our own knowledge through the use of their vivid imaginations.
To say that our children' reactions when they first laid eyes on the many goods that had been donated would be an understatement. Excited students yelled out what they planned to do with each item as they received it. We had one student who was extremely adamant about working as a chef in the kitchen, and we had another student who was eager to work as a nurse to care for the ill infants. It made us incredibly happy to be teachers because it showed us that our students have the potential to become chefs, nurses, veterinarians, doctors, and construction professionals. This is what we anticipated so that our kids would have the chance to experience real-life scenarios while also having the opportunity to use their brilliant imaginations to create a variety of diverse scenarios.
Not only do we make it possible for kids to carry on their own conversations with the help of the materials that have been donated, but we also make the most of every other opportunity we have to educate them. We have conversations with the students to make certain that they are gaining knowledge while getting the opportunity to use the items that were donated. There are several exchanges that will make you laugh out loud. When you tell a child between the ages of four and five that the coffee doesn't taste quite right, they are taken aback. The question that emerges is whether it requires additional sugar or milk. Or when we ask our doctors who are still in training why the newborns presented with illness. Responses could include something along the lines of: "They had a cold and require medicine, but I will give it to them now." The thing that makes us the happiest is when we see them coming with the stethoscope to check the baby's heartbeat, and then they come to us as teachers and check our heartbeats to make sure that we are okay. We are delighted to learn that students are paying attention when professionals such as doctors, nurses, chefs, and others put their knowledge to the test in this very classroom.
Moving forward, our intention is to keep fostering growth in the classroom in any and all possible ways by maximizing use of the materials that were generously donated. The children will continue to be given the opportunity to learn through the use of visual learning, and we intend to do the very best job we possibly can as educators. Once more, we cannot express how grateful we are. There are not enough words to express how grateful we are to each and every one of you who has donated. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude from our classroom.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Velazquez
