Because so many of the third grade math standards have to do with learning multiplication and division while finding patterns, having manipulatives can help the students understand by feeling, seeing, and moving parts rather than just memorize a formula. Distant learning is hard enough already, so I want to provide hands-on materials to make learning easier. I also want students to fall in love with books! I love all the books available online, but to do a literature study with the students on Google Meet it would be very beneficial for each student to have a copy of the book we are studying.
