This program will allow students to learn about a medium that they are not typically introduced to. They will learn about clay properties, hand-building techniques, and glazing. Students will learn how clay turns from soft to hard through the firing process. Students will use 21st-century skills of critical thinking and collaboration as they work together to make a plan and execute it. Students will also encounter problems and need to work together to solve them. Students will also learn about other artists that have built outdoor sculptures. Students will learn how 2-dimensional art differs from 3-dimensional Art as well.
