  • Snack- A -Doodle-Do!

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

Snacks hold more significance than mere sustenance. They provide my students with the necessary fuel to stay focused, energized, and ready to engage in meaningful learning experiences. By offering healthy and nutritious snacks, I can help them maintain optimal cognitive function throughout the day, leading to improved concentration, memory retention, and overall academic performance.

In addition to the physical benefits, snacks also create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Sharing snacks fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among my students. It encourages them to interact with one another, exchange cultural experiences, and practice their language skills in an informal and relaxed setting. These moments of social interaction and connection contribute to their language development and enhance their communication skills.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Brito

  • The Digital Era Is Upon Us

    Funded May 30, 2021

I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to share with you some exciting ways in which the iPad has greatly supported my work as an English as a New Language (ENL) teacher. With its versatile features and educational apps, the iPad has enhanced my teaching practices and provided enriching experiences for our students.

Incorporating the iPad into my teaching practices has undoubtedly enhanced my instruction and promoted student engagement and language development. I have explored the available apps, resources, and features and discovered how they align with my instructional goals and students' needs.

In terms of assessment, the iPad offers valuable tools. I can leverage language assessment apps and interactive quizzes to gauge my student's progress and identify areas of growth. The instant feedback these apps provide allows us to tailor my instruction to meet the specific needs of each student effectively.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Brito

Serving healthy snacks helps students with better concentration. Many of my students do not eat school lunch. Therefore, providing them healthy snacks would maximize performance in the classroom. Healthy snacks mean a healthy lifestyle! I want to do the best that I can to make sure our children are successful at home, at school, and in life. While back-to-school is a very busy time for students, parents, and teachers alike, spending some time talking about healthy snacks can potentially make a big difference and can help avoid eating less unhealthy foods.
