A Learning Teacher
Funded May 26, 2022having these books funded allowed me the opportunity to really supplement my pedagogy over the summer. It is great to have physical copies as I can do so much with them. I am able to highlight and write in the margins as they are my own personal copies. I am also sharing many of the resources with my coworkers. Over the summer I immersed myself in the text and was able to find many strategies and additional resources that I was able to implement in September. It also helped me come up with professional development opportunities for my fellow team mates. For example, the book on equity on really helped bolstered the school's equity's team plan for the year as we had only focused on one text previously. The book on Spanish biliteracy pedagogy was also particularly influential as Spanish literacy is hard to develop and there aren't as many programs for it.”

Making Virtual Learning a Reality
Funded Dec 14, 2020This document camera has allowed virtual learning to become more hands on! Instead of using a digital whiteboard, students can follow along using the same materials I do! There is no confusion about what page or question we are on as well as what materials we should be using. Students can see what the math process is like by being able physically follow along and mentally mirror my thinking.
This document camera is special because you can write on your actual surface or use the software's own writing utensils. It is especially helpful to be able to take direct pictures from what I am showing and upload to Google Classroom or Class Dojo. Students are so happy that they are able to see their work and myself at the same time! Now more than ever they are engaged, not only with their cameras on but also showing me their work and participating. I am so grateful that this new technology has allowed these students to not fall behind. Thank you so much for making this possible!”

Enhanced Learning!
Funded Aug 26, 2020Thanks to your amazing contributions my students are able to incorporate technology into their learning! Depending on the group that is in person that day, this could look a little different. Some might use the iPad as a center for letter sounds or others might use it for writing practice. As this is a bridge class it is important to offer many points of differentiation and targeted objectives. Some students also use it as a quick assessment tool using the iReady platform. However, students mostly LOVE using the iPad for Scratch Jr.! This has unlocked their creativity and drive for STEM and computer science based learning. I can't wait to create more projects with them using this tool. Thank you again!”
