• Embrace Inner Peace...Take Some Calming Breaths!

  My kiddos are so excited to have a couch in the "Cozy Area" it looks a lot more inviting to them. They all want to go there to read a book, use a "calming board, play with a puppet and simply to relax!

  The first day the couch arrived, they all wanted to be in the cozy area. We had to use a timer so that everyone could have a turn to seat on the couch. It was hilarious!

  In the near future I would like to add more multicultural books and books about abilities.

  They love to look at books. Hurray”

• Storage Bins...Add a Sense of Calm to a Learning Space.

  Preschool classrooms can be prime spots for clutter and chaos. Putting the storage bins in each cubby and interest area, has brought order to the classroom. From water bottles to finished works of art to take home, storage bins are helping to hold all our kids' treasures!

  The storage bins were also the perfect home for science supplies. We designated a storage bin for each science activity or experiment we conduct with the kiddos throughout the year and restock the bins accordingly.

• To Plant a Seed is to Believe in Tomorrow!

  I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart on behalf of my students.

  The children were very excited to see the garden beds, tools and seeds. They wanted to go to the garden right away to dig and plant seeds.

  In the garden area, there is a mud corner where they enjoy digging and making mud cakes. I have seen them cut tomatoes and bringing them to the mud area to "pretend cook". It really has made a big difference in the lives of each child.

  I am so excited with the materials I received from your kind donations. The "All About Today" Calendar, has been very helpful. The calendar teaches children in a playful manner. They learn about days, dates, months, weather and seasons.

  The Cozy area, is a place where children can relax, calm down and learn to manage their emotions and behavior. They loved the furniture for the cozy area.

  It was so exciting to see their little faces when they saw the new materials.

• Nature Is the Best Playground!

  Our school just re-open for in-person learning. At this moment only two classrooms have children.

  The children were so excited to see all the new outdoor materials. They wanted to try everything. The new paint brushes, binoculars, etc. it was so exciting to see the look on their faces. I will post some pictures very soon.

  The children are using the paint brushes to paint anything from leaves, rocks etc. they are using the binoculars to explore the creases on leaves, the outdoor cushions to seat under a tree and read a book.

  Our Nature Explore Outdoor classroom is a piece of heaven for our children. All the materials that I was able to obtain through "Donors Choose" made it much more fun for the children.”

• Breathing is My Superpower

  My students are having so much fun using the yoga stability balls. When they first saw the balls, they were jumping up and down with so much excitement.

  We have been trying different exercises with the stability yoga balls. The "On Top of the World" exercise, a great way to teach the children balance and improve posture and work core muscles, the "Squat", helps them work-through the proper range of motion with a supported back. The "Hand-Walking the Plank", enhances the child's balance as well as strengthen his/her upper body and core. These are only a few of the exercises we do with the yoga balls.”
