  • Quality Physical Education

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you again for your generous and timely donations to my project. This time around, you helped fund a modern, inclusive physical education classroom that is moving beyond just playing different sports and into teaching a lifelong love of physical education.

With the gift card for teachers pay teachers, I was able to purchase many wonderful unit plans and ideas to implement in my own classroom, and I have noticed a great change in the types of students who participate in my class. Where it was once mostly the students already involved in sports and physical activity, the new types of activities and lessons I have been implementing have been a boon in getting the lest enthusiastic students engaged.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Freyre

  • Fall Back With Speed

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to help fund this project. Your speedy donations helped me to kick off our running club for this school year, which has been a huge hit with my students.

We were able to get lots of practice in using our new speed gun to measure the speed of my students, and they absolutely loved knowing how fast they could run! The resistance parachutes were another hit, with many students asking when they would be able to try them out again.

Lastly, the medals and awards have been a great motivator for my students to keep up their practice.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Freyre

  • Superstar Gold Club

    Funded Jan 28, 2022

My club is so thankful for your donations. My club has the resources now with last wait time and more play time! Wooo!! The club has been practicing more and more and now everyone is getting the hang of the sport golf. My club will will be moving forward to next school year because of you! We get to do this next year! It's been a pleasure seeing my club members simile and have fun with a sport that they all were not aware of. Now it's one of their favorite spots!

Now it's summer time and my students are able to take the tools and play golf with their families.”

  • Shoe Tying Practice

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

My students were absolutely elated when they saw the shoe-tying equipment that I was able to secure for them! They had never seen "shoes" like the ones your donations got for them, and they got a real kick out of using them.

We have started using our practice shoe-tyers with weekly lessons focused on teaching my students real-life skills. Shoe-tying is a big one at this age, because so many of my little ones have to wear velcro strip shoes instead of shoes with laces.

The shoe-tying lessons have been a hit with my students, and I hope to expand it to the rest of the PE department if it continues to help out my students with learning this essential skill.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Freyre

  • PE Chill Out Library

    Funded Oct 19, 2021

Thank you all for giving my students the foundations of understanding their emotions. These books tend to speak for them, for them to understand better why they're feeling angry, sad, etc. Reading in my classroom is a joyful place where students decided when they want to cool down and read a book after our activities.

I have noticed that many of my students have begun expanding their understanding of not only what they are feeling but learning to communicate their emotions better. Whereas many students would often tell me they feel upset and not be able to explain more, I now have students telling me they are sad, embarrassed, angry, or jealous, which has made it much easier to help them through their emotions than previously.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Freyre

Many of my students struggle with their emotions and lack an effective means of communicating what they are feeling, which is a huge roadblock to getting help for what they are dealing with. My goal is to create and furnish a "chill out zone" with books on emotions and how to healthily express and manage them where my students can go to cool down when they are feeling overwhelmed. Using the "A Little SPOT" book sets, I will start a small library focused on mental health and emotional wellbeing for my students in our chill-out zone. The goal is to give my students the resources to better express themselves and learn more about their emotions and eventually other community-building skills like safety, responsibility, and kindness.
