Creating Art and Reading. What an Amazing Combination!

I wanted to thank you again for your generosity, attention and commitment. The supplies you were able to provide - paints, markers, crayons, drawing paper and books, put a smile on everyone of our students' faces. These materials were not able to be used in the classroom because all of the students were learning from home. We were able to give these materials to students to use during the last few days of distance learning and throughout the summer.

We never thought too much about these supplies while we were in the school building together because we were able to get them from our school. It became clear that during distance learning having art supplies and a variety of books was going to very challenging. It also showed a large disparity between the kids who were able to grab a pair of scissors or crayons and many of the students who said they didn't have any or the students. who relied on getting books from the library or the classroom (which they didn't have access to anymore).

While we didn't get too many photos of the students using the supplies, we were very lucky to be able to deliver them to each student and see the smile on their face from receiving such an awesome and unexpected gift!”
