  • Making Learning Engaging With LCD Writing Tablets!

    Funded Aug 26, 2024

Thank you so much for making this project possible for my fantastic first grade students. We received our project materials within 5 days! When I first saw that people had given to my project, I was so thrilled and excited. These writing tablets have been such a great addition to our ICT class. Our students were in awe and super excited to begin using this within our class. We explained how we are going to use the tablets during math, fundations, writing, which got our 1st graders even more thrilled.

The writing tablets have allowed us to enhance our teaching and learning. During math, the student utilize them to practice math fluency facts, solve problems, and show their work, without the hassele of using whiteboard and dry eraser markers. During phonics, the children are able to practice writing words, forming letters in the correct way, and writing sentences. The best part, students also enjoy "doodling" during snack time. We enjoy using it in our class everyday.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rollins

  • Stand by Me in LCT

    Funded Mar 3, 2024

Thank you so much for making this project possible for my fantastic first grade students. We received our project materials within 5 days! When I first saw that people had given to my project, I was so thrilled and excited. The LG Stand By Me TV has been such a great addition to our ICT class. Our students were in awe and super excited to begin using this within our class. We explained how we are going to use the portable TV in our class, which got our 1st graders even more thrilled.

The LG Stand By Me TV has allowed us to enhance our teaching and learning. When we are in small group instruction or parallel teaching, the students are able to view and engage in the lesson using the Stand By Me. During, centers, our students are able to use the TV to research or play educational games. During our informative writing unit, students were able to utilize the web browser to research. The LG Stand By Me, has been most useful, when we parallel teach. We are able to show slides, videos, use as a digital whiteboard to enhance our lessons. The best part, since the portable TV is touchscreen, our students enjoy coming up during a lesson and "write" on the screen using the online whiteboard. We enjoy using it in our class everyday.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rollins

Our goal is to allow the students more flexibility when it comes to seating, so that our students are more successful as learners. Being able to move and choose their own seating will positively impact their learning while reducing behavior issues. It is difficult to sit on a hard chair all day. This is not the ideal setting to expect the best possible work from our students. Just as we choose a comfortable spot to work in, children should have that choice too. As teachers, we want to help them reach their full potential. Successful students are comfortable in their learning environment and so flexible seating is a necessity, not a luxury. By implementing alternative seating in our classroom, our students will have the freedom to move around and learn the valuable skill of making choices. They will choose which seating arrangement works best for them while studying and engaging in learning activities. Studies show that allowing flexible seating will decrease behavior problems and promote learning.
