Bold, Brave, and Brilliant Readers Need Books!

These books have allowed my class to DIVE into reading workshop in an engaged way. There were so excited to see all of the new options of books to read and even were able to take them home to share with their families.
During reading time in our classroom, there is some time to teach an idea, some time for the children to try that idea, and some time for them to build on their reading stamina and skills.
We launched a new unit just as we received the new books from this donation. This new unit was teaching kids the 'super powers' they needed to use in order to read. It was so heart warming to see the kids using their pointer power and sound power in such an engaged way because of these amazing new books! Which is all thanks to you!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Perry and Donna Golkin Family Foundation and 5 other donors.

Due to new rules and regulations because of COVID, materials in classrooms are not able to be shared, and so there are not enough of many things for children to have their own sets. With that being said, children in Kindergarten are not able to use many choice time materials such as blocks, the pretend kitchen area, kinetic sand, manipulative, etc. Building blocks can be useful for many different things. Children are able to express their creativity, their knowledge of the world, and their spatial awareness. Play-Doh is a way for children to have more sensory experiences, but we do not have a full class set.
