  • Fresh Start to a New Year

    Funded Aug 25, 2024

Thank you so much for your donations! I am so excited to start this new school year with all the necessities. Classroom set up is one of my favorite parts of the year and all of these materials make it even more exciting for me! I can't wait to see how my students love the materials as well.”

  • Launching a New School Year!

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you so much for this variety of materials to start off the school year!

Every year when I plan over the summer for what I want my room to look like I think of all the materials I need to make it successful year.

I want to make sure my students have the things they need to make them feel independent, welcomed, safe, and loved.

The environment and materials are like another teacher in the room, giving the children the means to produce and manipulate their learning.

Thank you for your continued support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maria

  • New Year, New Table!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

Thank you so much for the new table! My students love sitting together and being able to collaborate with one another.

With this new table, we were able to create table groups of 4-5, this gives the children enough peers to collaborate with, but not in an overwhelming way- for some of our children with sensory over stimulation.

The children use the table for math games, writing time, reading centers, and even as a prop during play time!

It is with your continued support that I am able to create a supportive environment for my Kindergarteners!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maria

  • Heart Words

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you for your support! These kindergartners are ready to read, and are excited to be learning new words.

We appreciate the help in purchasing the materials needed to support their growth as readers.

Studying words is a crucial part of early literacy development.

Thank you for your continued support.”

  • Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs

    Funded Dec 29, 2022

This school year my students were extremely excited and motivated to practice their letter sound knowledge. They were constantly looking for letters, talking about sounds in toys and name. We used these toys to isolate sounds in a fun and inviting way!

We used these toys in small groups, direct phonics instruction, and even choice time. The toys are so cute and the children loved sorting them into the correct first sound baskets.

Next year I hope to use these letter bins as a reading/literacy center.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maria

  • The Science of Reading!

    Funded Nov 1, 2022

One of the beauties of kindergartners is their excitement to learn and try new things.

This school year there was a lot of new research about how children need to be using the science of reading to learn how to read and implement their letter-sound knowledge, and to be able to connect these sounds to blend and read words!

We used these books in small groups, independent reading, and even whole class shared reading.

The children LOVED these books because they were able to show off their skills.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maria

  • Learn and Play with Puppets

    Funded Sep 25, 2022

Thank you for allowing me to honor the different learning needs of my students. As educators, we know that ALL children learn differently. These puppets have supported my children in a few different aspects of our classroom.

We used the finger puppets and pointers as a way to engage the children fiction and non fiction reading by playing to their interests of dramatic play. They would use the puppets to act out the book, or even to read to as a partner.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maria

  • Snug Small Group Space

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

During the pandemic, small groups looked a lot different. Since children had to be distanced, the space did not look like I imagined. This year I was able to start creating that space again, and really wanted to make it inviting and exciting.

We gather in this space multiple times a day to work together on reading, writing, and math. The children get so excited to come to this table to work together.

We just started reading decodable books and we gather together at this table to do so, the children are stretching out words together and listen to each other while they try.

    Thank you so much”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maria

Due to new rules and regulations because of COVID, materials in classrooms are not able to be shared, and so there are not enough of many things for children to have their own sets. With that being said, children in Kindergarten are not able to use many choice time materials such as blocks, the pretend kitchen area, kinetic sand, manipulative, etc. Building blocks can be useful for many different things. Children are able to express their creativity, their knowledge of the world, and their spatial awareness. Play-Doh is a way for children to have more sensory experiences, but we do not have a full class set.
