My students sit down on an old, dirty carpet that is clean regularly but still looks old. If they have a nice clean place to sit down will make them feel more welcome and respected. In regards to other materials when I saw the boards, and the chart stand, immediately, I knew that if we have those two items the children will be excited to work on them since the boards that we have are old with spots and some of them are pealed. The adjustable chart-stand that we have had fallen twice on top of the kids because some parts are missing, but the children love to work on that stand and I keep placing in different positions making sure it does not fall again on top of the children. In regards to the other materials, I use a lot of visuals in my classroom since the kids that I work with come from low-income families. I have to provide printable books and it will be nice if sometimes I print a color book for my students to read at home. The magnet erasers they use every day with the board as well as the erasable markers. Part of my lecture I have to create the materials (letters to create words and pictures to demonstrate the meaning of those words) for that reason the magnets are very important to me, helps to hold letters and pictures on the board. I have to create most of my materials not only for classroom lectures but also for the centers since we use a method of learning named Universal Design of Learning (UDL).
