  • Build Your History

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

I am immensely grateful for you generosity towards our scholars. The opportunity to create a project based on all they learned brought them excitement to learn. Scholars spent the majority of the unit reading on ancient civilizations. They used all they learned to crest an informational text. The incentive was that they would use the materials you all donated to build a representation of one of the civilizations. This project brought them together, discussing their ideas and helping one another being their visions to life. Without your donation their creativity would have been limited. Thank you from us all for helping to make learning fun!”

  • Calm Clean & Comfortable Class

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. The students were excited to open the packages and help set up their classroom. They were so excited about setting up a calm, cool classroom.

Each day we work as a classroom community to keep up with the room my keeping things clean and organized. Thanks to the donations there is plenty of supplies and everything has it's place. Having a clean and organized space makes students feel calm and safe.

Students also enjoy the "coolness" of using Alexa to set timers for their tasks or ask for fun facts. They also enjoy using it to play calm classroom music each morning and afternoon.

We could not have done it without you!”

  • Crocs for Kids

    Funded Jun 8, 2022

Students were surprised and beyond thrilled to receive their graduation gift from you! Most of these students had never owned crocs but admired the "cool" comfy shoes from afar when other students had them on. They were excited to have a pair of their own. The best part was watching them choose their Jibitz and talk about what the ones they chose mean to them.

Students spent their summer being "cool" in their crocs. Some of them are surely rocking their comfy crocs in middle school for casual Fridays.

Ultimately this gift created a memory they will never forget. Thank you all for your generosity and endless well wishes!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Morales

  • Characters Can Look and Feel Like Me!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

The students from my class as well have others were extremely excited to discover all of the new books in the "This is Us" library created thanks to your generous donations. Students use these books during morning reading time. Some students have found comfort in specific books and look for them when they are in seen of emotional support.

Originally the order was catered for towards lower grade students however even my newest kiddos in the 5th grade have enjoyed the literature. One student who often becomes anxious always issues "mindfulness for kids" as a way to calm her mind. These books do more than just support literacy, they support social and emotional health. They solidify identity and they provide comfort.

Thank you again for your donation !

  • Blue Light Glasses for Our Kids

    Funded Feb 11, 2021

Thank you again for your generous contributions! Each student from 3K-5th grade both in the building and fully remote received blue light glasses. All students have a device used for learning and completing assignments. Students are now able to protect their eyes by wearing their blue light glasses while using these devices.

Often times students complained about headaches or sleepiness, many times these symptoms were brought on due to long periods of screen time. Due to the lockdown and times of quarantine, technology was the most reliable source of learning and communication. With these glasses students have experienced less headaches and fatigue.

The students were very excited to receive their glasses. The glasses also motivated them to get work done, they felt cool wearing the glasses during screen time !

As the threat I'd covid 19 becomes less severe and better managed student will have the opportunity to spend more time in person and less time in a virtual classroom. We will continue to take care of and use our blue light glasses to protect our eyes when completing assignments on our devices. This will ultimately help us to be more successful.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Morales

As most individuals, our students are currently facing many challenges due to the pandemic. A great amount of these challenges are due to distance learning. Students are spending a large amount of time in front of the screen causing headaches, lack of focus, and strained vision. Blue light glasses are a basic need that can make a difference. By providing students with the basic necessities to learn, we will help set them up for success. It has been proven that blue light glasses help to block light from digital devices. Too much exposure to blue light can cause tired eyes, red eyes, neck pain, headaches, fatigue, and it make eyes strain to concentrate.
