COVID-19 brought many changes to our student's lives. For the most part these changes are seen through a negative lens focused on their loss of normalcy, learning, and socialization. All a direct result of these experiences, but the actual consequences and lasting effects we will not be able to measure until many years down the road. Our reaction as a society of educators was to leverage the use of technology to bridge these gaps and forcing many Districts who otherwise have resisted the further integration of technology into education to reconsider. The amount of growth seen in students, parents, and teachers in regards to their ability to use technology to enhance and enrich learning needs is important to recognize and as something that we can capitalize on. I believe if we shift our focus to utilizing this growth we will be able to recoup or mitigate the effects of the learning loss occurred as the result of the pandemic. But..... In order for that to happen we need to address some of the deficits in areas of basic support needed in order to take advantage of this opportunity. 1. Be able to provide replacement chargers 2. Create the capability to charge the devices more effectively in the classroom. It is as simple as that. Such as simple need, but such a huge impact on the ability to continue to move forward.
