100% of my students are from low-income households. Working towards providing a chance to equity is my goal. My students will be grateful for it! My students understand Math when it is hands-on. I believe my kids can excel with the right tool. Every material will be used to provide a UDL experience and reach all learners. Small group means centers, having rolling carts with drawers will allow me to store work packets and worksheets students will use daily at their centers in an organized manner. Having Math manipulatives will our students visualize abstract concepts that may have been struggling with. As a resource teacher, I am always looking for ways to make math make sense to them. The goal is to use our Quartet Magnetic Easel, 70", Graphite Metal every day to create charts as a classroom during the lesson, while the easel pads will help us make the charts we need. As an example, my 3rd graders struggle with multiplication and understanding the different strategies that can be used to multiply. Creating a chart with the students helps students synthesize the concepts and strategies. While the rolling cart will help organize their work and projects at the Math centers, the pizza fraction will help give students a more relatable and less abstract perspective on fractions. The Smath game will help students with their multiplications facts. The People from Lego Education will help create word problems. Finally, the "100 Days of Decimals, Percents & Fractions: Advanced Practice Problems (Answer Key Included) - Converting Numbers - Adding, Subtracting, ... Fractions - Reducing Fractions - Math Drills" will help my students practice more.
