  • Turning Our Students Into Voracious Readers Book by Book!

    Funded Jul 12, 2020

These books have impacted our students in ways that are indescribable. This donation sparked a project for the entire school and now we have TWENTY libraries in EACH homeroom in our middle school! Each library has a little over 200 books and all students in this building have access to them! Although this project started off during the beginning of the pandemic and was in response to giving students the opportunity to read a variety of books at their grade level, it has become so much more!

At our middle school, we build in 20 mins. of independent reading daily. Prior to this donation, students were not engaged or excited about this independent reading push. In fact, students would often sit in front of a book for a month and never really read. Today, students are able to find a high interest book at their level in any given room in this school! This year, many students have read up to 15 books and it is only November!

I cannot emphasize this enough when I say, this project impacted over 400 students in this school because it spark a project that eventually put thousands of books into our students hands!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Keough

  • You Get a Snack and You Get a Snack!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation. This is going to make such an impact here! Our students have been working so hard and these incentives will only help increase student motivation and engagement. These donations mean the world to our community and I can't wait to update everyone!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Keough

These books will continue to enhance my student engagement and ownership in their learning. Each student in my classroom should have the opportunity to have a library where their interest and reading levels are being met. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. With a new library filled with books of their choice, students will be able to choose books that will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. We need all students reading daily, both in our classrooms and at home in order to grow as scholars. I truly believe all students deserve a library with books at various reading levels and genres, which will promote student engagement. Students who are excited about reading, who also have high quality, engaging books at their fingertips daily, will grow and develop as readers and learners. I am asked daily, "Ms. Keough, can you get me a copy of..." Insert almost every book I've put on this list here. It is my hope, that these books will turn my students into the voracious readers that I know they are all capable of becoming.
