  • Darkness to Discovery: Transforming a Darkroom into a Creative STEAM Lab!

    Funded Dec 14, 2024

Thank you! We did it! The WE includes you!

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your generosity in supporting our STEAM lab project! Because of your contribution, we are transforming an unutilized darkroom into a dynamic space where students can explore, create, and innovate.

Your support means the world to us and will have a lasting impact on our students. With these materials, we’re empowering them to think critically, solve problems, and discover the joys of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—all in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

Thank you for believing in the vision and investing in our future scientists, artists, and engineers. We can’t wait to share updates on the exciting projects and learning experiences your kindness has made possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Washington

  • A Space to Create

    Funded May 7, 2021

My students were amazed on the first day of school when they saw how our art studio had been transformed. Thanks to your contribution, the classroom now feels like a professional art-making space, inspiring creativity and pride every day.

The new art desks have completely changed the atmosphere of our studio. These sturdy and spacious workstations provide the functionality my students need to immerse themselves in their projects fully. They now have room to spread out their materials, work more comfortably, and experiment with new techniques. The desks have also made it easier for students to collaborate on group projects and engage in larger-scale assignments with confidence.

Beyond being practical, these desks symbolize the value placed on their artistic growth. Students are proud to work in an environment that supports their creativity and makes them feel like true artists. This transformation has inspired even the most hesitant students to participate more fully in class, fostering greater engagement and a deeper appreciation for art.

Your generosity has created a classroom where students feel motivated to push their boundaries and treat their work with a level of professionalism they hadn't considered before. They approach their projects with excitement, taking ownership of their artistic journeys in ways that are truly inspiring to witness.

Thank you for believing in my students and for supporting their growth through art education. Your contribution has had a lasting impact on their learning experience and has made a world of difference in our classroom. I look forward to sharing the incredible work they create in this inspiring new space.”

  • The Hero Project

    Funded Aug 17, 2021

    You are our heroes!

The last two years have been extremely tough for educators, especially Art educators. Funds are often allocated to what administrators feel is a priority yet expect magical things to happen in Fine and Performing Arts.

My students used the materials that we were able to acquire with your donations to learn how to draw bodies anatomically correct. After they learned how to draw bodies using the mannequins they learned the art, history, and dynamics of creating superheroes so that they could recreate themselves as one.

My students were excited to use the mannequins because they are accustomed to having to use their imagination when learning how to draw things that they don't have access to. We don't have the luxury of hiring models when learning how to draw people so they benefited greatly from having their own personal model in front of them.

Your contribution not only had an impact on my current students, but will be an asset to students who matriculate in my class for years to come.”

My students have been forced to sit at old tables that are covered in years of scratches and paint. Where and how they sit is not conducive to them having the individual space they need to create their best works of art. With us returning to the building, this seating issue makes it impossible to social distance. When they return to the building, the art studio will have a whole new look. I want them to enter with enthusiasm and eagerness to create their greatest works without worry or anxiety of space or sickness by having their own drawing desks to sit at.
