Songbooks for Special Students
Funded Dec 27, 2024Receiving these amazing books has been so beneficial to our classroom. "Canta Conmigo" is full of songs, lessons, and games in Spanish that have been so engaging for my students. "The Pout Pout Fish" has provided a great opportunity for my students to practice major and minor chords on ukulele during that unit. The feelings cards we received have been used to describe and name emotions, as well as creating music and sound to accompany each emotion!
Students of all ages in my classroom (Kinder-4th Grade) have been reaping the benefits of these books and I am so grateful!”

Classroom Seating & Lighting
Funded Aug 2, 2024The new resources have been such a great benefit to our classroom. The lighting we purchased has helped calm students because it has helped to provide a low light environment and warm colors, which has been great especially in the morning. Many students have commented that they really like the color of the new lamp.
The seating allowed us to have new colorful sit spots on the floor, which has allowed every student to have a clean spot to sit.
We are so grateful for your help in donating and purchasing these items.”

Musical Madness
Funded Oct 8, 2023My students are loving our new resources! They were so excited to see our new puppet- the large squirrel is absolutely adorable and will help assist with our squirrel songs. The frames I used to frame some very old vintage Christmas music from our classroom, and the kids love to look at those covers on the way in and out of the classroom.
Getting new triangles was much needed and I know the students will love holding the new triangle holders that came with these, because our triangles were tricky to hold before.
We are so thankful!”

Funded Aug 2, 2023In our music classroom, we are LOVING our new instruments!! Students were so excited to see the new small (sandblocks, cabasas) AND big instruments (cajon) added to our classroom. Students from PreK-3rd grade have already gotten to play the sandblocks and cabasa and have loved getting a new instrument in their hands. Each student has asked me about the cajon, which has given me a great teaching opportunity to talk to them about a new kind of instrument. The cajon has provided me with some new classroom sounds and rhythms for the students to dance and move to, which has been a great outlet for all of us.
We so appreciate your support!”

Funded Jul 26, 2023My students and I are absolutely loving our new resources! The shoe rack to hold all of our puppets has been a huge hit. The students love seeing the puppets out daily now, and "living" all together in their home. The tree helps to make my puppets super accessible for daily learning! When they first saw all the puppets set up on the tree, they were so excited!
The slide whistle is another resource being used daily. The students love to do vocal warm-ups using the sound of the slide whistle because it's so engaging. Look out for our next project to continue to support our room!”

Funded Mar 2, 2023My students and I were so excited to receive these new materials!! With the bass xylophone repair parts, I was finally able to repair some large bass xylophones that had been sitting unused. My students were so thrilled to finally be able to play the "big instruments" and absolutely adored the sound of the basses. Our favorite part of this project was the stretchy band. When my kindergarteners first saw the large stretchy band, they squealed with delight! We used it to show different movements that matched the music we were listening to, and we can't wait to use it for so many different things! Thank you again, and stay tuned for future music projects!”

Books With Musical Hooks!
Funded Mar 21, 2023Thank you again for your contributions to this project! The variety of books I received will allow me to teach so many new lessons using literature. Reading "Trombone Shorty" and "Charlie Parker Played Be Bop" will give my students knowledge about amazing Black musicians in America and the impact they made with their music. Reading aloud "In My Heart" to my youngest students will give them the opportunity to hear about different emotions, and discuss emotions they've felt before. The book will be a jumping off point for us to then work in small groups to create soundscapes and movements representing each emotion. These are just a few of the ways we will use these new books. My students were so excited to help me unbox these beautiful stories. Thank you again.”

Musical Mallets
Funded Oct 26, 2022Students were absolutely thrilled to finally get to play our xylophones because of the new mallets this project helped to fund. When they walked in the classroom and the instruments were set up to play instead of on the back wall like usual, I could see the excitement in their faces!
We are using the variety of mallets to allow a whole class to play mallet instruments at the same time, which is truly a gift! In these pictures, kindergarten students got to play a glockenspiel for the first time with a familiar song they had been singing.
We are so thankful for your generosity and donation. Next semester, we will be working on more complex and exciting music using these mallets, and we can't wait!”
