I am planning on doing a physical science unit of the importance of wearing seatbelts and the physics behind car crashes. In order to help with the overall understanding of force and acceleration I want to do several labs where students graph constant velocity and discuss how that relates to force. Students of high school age are the most common age impacted by car crashes and it is largely due to a misconception of how physics can impact their lives in the event of an accident. With the addition of these Constant Velocity Cars students will be able to engage in the content in a way that means something to them.
