By having books that students can read and are interested in, they will be more likely to pick up a book and read it. The more a student reads, the more he/she knows and learns. I want my students to start to have a love for reading because reading has been a challenge for all of them. Our library hours are limited due to not having a full-time librarian. Students need materials easily accessible because most families cannot afford to purchase books for their children. Book orders are available but never turned in. Over 80% of students in our district qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
