Most of my students if not all, come from low-income households. This past year has been challenging emotionally and financially for most of my students. Many of my parents rely on public assistance and asking them for basic materials for their child, will add an additional load of stress. My project if funded will bring relief to my students and their parents. I'm asking for basic yet very important tools to foster their reading and math skills. I'm asking for reading and math journals to allow my students to build on their current skills without so much pressure. Having the opportunity to work on their assignments using their reading and math journals will allow my students to break each task in chunks.
