For example, I will use the book, Fish in a Tree, during class read out loud time. Each student follows along with the book while I read to them. Seeing and hearing how words are pronounced help English language students learn vocabulary. I have three students that struggle with reading and this book will help them know that they are not alone and can conquer their disabilities. Using the book will allow them to learn and use new vocabulary. They will not have Spanish support next year, so all the vocabulary they learn this year will greatly help them in the future. They will absolutely love this book and learn vocabulary in an authentic way.
