Recorders are an effective tool in the elementary music classroom for students to learn and create music. Learning the recorder will develop a student's ear for music, note recognition, and basic music theory. A recorder also provides students who aspire to pursue the performing arts in middle and high school a strong foundation in music that they may not normal have. The bottom line, the elementary music classroom should be filled with wonder and most of all FUN! It should expose students to new things. Recorders are an effective tool that allows students to enter a new world and create sounds during a busy school day.
