Let's Talk!
Funded Nov 8, 2021Thank you for your donation to my students and their communication. We are using our voice-output devices in the classroom throughout the day. Students have been able to communicate bathroom needs with a single push of a button and we've seen a decrease in the number of accidents and behaviors. We also use our new buttons to read stories and answer questions. My students recently were able to help read The Ballad of Valentine (a Valentines Day book) to their peers using a single button multi-message device. They requested to take turns with the device and always smiled when they were able to have their turn pushing it to read the next page.
My students seem more engaged in academic tasks since receiving our devices, they truly seem to enjoy the audio feedback after pushing the buttons and have learned that these buttons mean something and they are able to get needs met or engage and participate in classroom activities more effectively.
We have high hopes for the future with these devices. We hope to continue to encourage the functional communication for basic needs and independence as well as incorporating these devices into more academic task such as reading, answering questions, and being able to collaborate with their peers.”

Ms. Lynch
Social Skills Fun
Funded Mar 2, 2020Thank you for donating to our Speech room. My students and I have enjoyed using the materials to learn about social skills. My students were excited to see new materials and were even more excited to participate in group lessons if the new materials were brought out.
My students are learning to interact and communicate appropriately with others while utilizing these materials. My students are more engaged when learning can be fun, and these materials sure made social skills fun.
We were even able to use some of the materials on virtual classrooms which made my students day as they had grown to enjoy some of the activities. Thank you once again for donating to our speech room and helping to making learning social skills fun.”

Funded Mar 2, 2020My students and I want to thank you for your generosity and willingness to fund our classroom project. The building materials we received have been put to fun use in the classroom. This materials have taught my students to use communication to request desired or needed items while also teaching them appropriate play skills.
My students were very excited to see new activities especially the magnetic building blocks were a hit. Not only did they build communication skills while interacting with the items and their peers, but they also gained new ways to ask for these desired items in the classroom.
Currently students are using the skills they've learned at school and are using them at home through virtual learning. The communication skills learned with these items have been used to interact with siblings at home and have given my students a way to participate with these activities at home. Thank you for donating to my classroom and students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lynch
