I got a job teaching math at a very small school in Oklahoma. With the job came a classroom with very little tools for my students to use. My smallest class has 11 students in it and I found 9 working calculators when I was getting ready for the school year. Working in a small school, money to purchase enough scientific calculators for a full class is not in the budget. For my geometry class, I found 10 protractors that weren't broken and 5 working compasses. My current geometry class has 23 students. I can't do any geometry construction projects because of this and my students are really missing out. All students learn differently and I believe my students will learn better if they had tools to allow them to do hands-on activities. The materials I have requested in this project would allow my students the materials for us to spend time doing hands-on activities.
