Head Start is an opportunity for low-income families to give their children a great education they deserve. Head Start is a federally funded program that started in the 1960s. While this program has successfully grown, it is still underfunded.
With funding so low, it doesn't leave much in the budget to allow teachers to get some great resources for the classroom. Our dramatic play center is an area where the children enjoy playing in the most. The dress up clothes and multicultural food pack would allow my students to use their imagination. In addition, it will help them grow socially and emotionally. The art center is very well loved and many materials have already been used. This center a great way to get their creative juices flowing. New and exciting materials would certainly spark their interest. Lastly, our science area has been growing increasingly popular, and the children would love new materials to keep their interest. The items I chose would help promote the children to learn more about the world around them. Please consider to help make a difference in these children's lives!
