This burns more calories and increases metabolism. It also helps keep young minds more alert and focused. In addition, offering a choice gives them empowerment. Weighted animals have the ability to calm the nervous system. It grounds them when they are having sensory issues or overload. Coming from trauma, having this consistency is beneficial for the student and the surrounding environment, teachers, and classmates.
