Art in Oils
Funded Nov 8, 2024Myself as well as my students would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous donations. Your support means so much to my students, who were excited to explore new art mediums. Thanks to your kindness, they now have the opportunity to experiment with vibrant colors, rich textures, and traditional painting techniques that will deepen their understanding of the art within oil paints. Seeing their creativity come to life with these new supplies has been truly inspiring.
Your generosity not only enhances our art program but also fosters a love for learning and creativity in young artists. These paints will be used for various projects throughout the year, allowing students to develop their skills and confidence as they bring their ideas to the canvas. Thank you for investing in their artistic growth and for making a lasting impact on their education. We are incredibly grateful for your support!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Stanley
The Art of Stained Glass
Funded Aug 25, 2023Thank you so much for the generosity that you have shown to my classroom. My students, both present and future, get the opportunity to create artworks from such an old art form. It has always been a goal of mine to be able to teach my students that art can be just as functional as it is beautiful. When introducing this project, we started small and created sun catchers that the students could sit in their windows. The next project we will be working on at the start of the new semester will be decorative votives for candles! Again, your donations have made it possible to bring a functional art form back into the classroom. Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Stanley
This classroom project was brought to life by The SONIC Foundation and 4 other donors.Yarn Driving Me Wild!
Funded Feb 25, 2020I cannot begin to thank you enough for what you all have provided for my classroom! Due to the closure of school at the end of last school year, I was not able to use the materials purchased as soon as I wanted. However, this year we are using it all and the students are loving it! We have started out with giving the 8th grade students the task of completing a Dream Catcher. At first when I brought out all the supplies and showed them an example, they were all very skeptical but excited.
The 8th grade students began slowly but once they understood the process everything went great. They were all very proud of themselves for being able to create a real, 3D, functional piece of Art. They also enjoyed the cultural aspect that came along with creating the Dream Catchers. I personally cannot wait to teach this project again for the next nine weeks classes.
Moving forward, I plan to use these materials to teach a lesson on bowl making and a lesson on weaving to create a bracelet. The materials that were provided through this amazing program are things that I probably never would have purchased for my class simply because of the expense, but now I can continue to show students the many amazing possibilities that Art can bring them!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Stanley
