  • Let's Get COMFY: Taking Flexible Seating to the Next Level!

    Funded May 6, 2020

    We want to thank you so much for our bean bags and comfy floor seats. We use them daily in our classroom. Being able to sit in something other than a desk or chair is so exciting for them! We create special moments every day by using these chairs. The students are able to work together and enjoy each others company while learning and being comfortable. They also love being able to choose where they sit instead of being told where to sit.

    They were so excited when they saw these! They could not wait to use them. We have a seating chart in our class that we rotate everyday, so everyone gets an equal amount of time to sit in each bean bag or floor seats.

    My next project is to implement STEM into my classroom by using the 3Doodler Pens. These pens are amazing! They allow the students to create their very on 3D objects. I hope this will spark the creativity that I know each one of my students have inside of them! They will get to hold their creations in their hand instead of just seeing it as drawing on a piece of paper!

In my gifted classroom, many of my students have different learning styles. Always sitting in a desk may not be the best way to learn for some of them. I always give them the opportunity to choose where they would like to sit. Right now, I only have tables in my classroom. They are allowed to sit on the carpet, but I would love for them to have more comfortable seating options. I feel that when a classroom environment is more inviting and comfortable, students perform at a completely different level. Using flexible seating in my classroom would definitely improve the students drive for learning!
