A lot of students prefer to write or draw to share their ideas. They may be nervous to share their ideas aloud from fear of being embarrassed by their peers. Learning how to read can be challenging and sharing their ideas can be nerve wracking. As they learn how to read, they can express themselves through colorful markers on what they are reading. I can be able to go around and check on what they have written or drawn instead to check for understanding. It can change the learning experience for students that may struggle or dislike reading in the classroom! The product that I have selected can change what guided reading looks like in the classroom. Confidence for students can be built and the love of reading can endure inside of them! The environment of reading can be student taught at times by writing questions of their own on the table and have the other students share their answers.
